Terms of service

Last updated 16 October 2026

Draft. This document is not yet in force and is being reviewed before EventTickets launches.

These terms apply when you or your organisation use EventTickets to sell tickets, run your door and get paid. Buyers have their own ticket terms.

Who we are

EventTickets is run by [Company name] Ltd, a company registered in [Scotland] with company number [number], whose registered office is at [address] ("we", "us"). "You" means the organisation that creates an EventTickets account and the people who use it on your behalf.

By creating an account or putting an event on sale, you agree to these terms, our acceptable use policy and our data processing agreement.

Your account

  • You must be at least 18 and able to agree to these terms for your organisation.
  • The details you give us, including those you give Stripe to receive payouts, must be accurate and kept up to date.
  • You're responsible for everything done through your account, including by team members you invite and anyone you give a door link and PIN to.
  • Keep sign-in details, API keys and door PINs private, and tell us straight away if you think they've been misused.

What we provide

EventTickets lets you create events, sell tickets through a hosted checkout or our API, run a queue for busy on-sales, send tickets and wallet passes, scan tickets at the door, and see your sales. We may improve, change or remove features over time. If we remove something you rely on, we'll give you reasonable notice.

We work hard to keep EventTickets running, especially during on-sales and on event nights, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.

Selling tickets

You are the organiser and the seller of your tickets. The contract for each ticket is between you and the buyer. You're responsible for your event, for describing it accurately, for its prices, conditions of entry, age limits and licences, and for dealing fairly with buyers.

We collect payment from buyers on your behalf through Stripe and pass your share to you as described below.

For review: Payments are taken with Stripe destination charges, which can make EventTickets the merchant of record on buyers' card statements. Confirm how to describe our role (commercial agent, payment collection agent or reseller) and whether this affects VAT.

Fees and plans

  • Our fee is charged per paid ticket, at the rate for your plan shown on our pricing page. Free tickets, comps and guest list tickets have no fee.
  • By default the buyer pays the fee as a booking fee at checkout. If you choose to absorb it for an event, it comes out of your payout instead.
  • Add-ons carry the percentage part of the fee only.
  • Pro is billed monthly in advance by card. You can cancel at any time and it ends at the end of the month you've paid for. We don't refund part months.
  • If a Pro payment fails and isn't recovered, your account moves back to Pay as you go fees and Pro features stop.
  • We can change our fees or plans with at least 30 days' notice. Changes don't affect tickets already sold.

Prices are shown [including / excluding] VAT.

Payouts

  • To sell live tickets you need a Stripe account connected through EventTickets. Stripe's own terms apply to that account.
  • Your takings for each event are normally paid out three days after the event ends. We may hold funds for longer, or ask for more information, where we reasonably suspect fraud, a high risk of refunds or chargebacks, or a breach of these terms.
  • Refunds, chargebacks and their costs for your events come out of your takings. If your balance can't cover them, you agree to pay us the difference.

Refunds and cancellations

You set your own refund policy for each event, as long as it respects buyers' legal rights.

If you cancel an event, or it doesn't go ahead, you must refund every buyer in full, including the booking fee. When an order is refunded we return our fee on it. If you don't refund buyers within a reasonable time, we may refund them from your held takings.

Your brand and content

You keep ownership of your logo, photos, event details and other content. You give us permission to use them to run EventTickets for you, for example on your event pages, tickets, emails and wallet passes. You confirm you have the right to use everything you upload. With your permission, we may name you as a customer on our website.

Buyer data

For your buyers' personal data, you are the controller and we process it for you under our data processing agreement. You must have a lawful basis for anything you do with your buyer list, and only send marketing to buyers who have agreed to receive it. Our own use of data is explained in our privacy policy.

Suspension and closing your account

We may suspend or close your account, or take an event off sale, if you breach these terms or the acceptable use policy, if we're required to by law or by Stripe, or to protect buyers. Where we can, we'll tell you why first and give you a chance to put things right.

You can close your account at any time once your events are finished and your payouts are settled. You can export your orders and buyer list before you go.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

  • We aren't responsible for your event itself, or for anything that happens at it.
  • We aren't liable for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill or data, or for indirect losses.
  • Our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.

You agree to cover our reasonable losses arising from claims made against us because of your event, your content or your breach of these terms.

For review: Check the liability cap and indemnity are reasonable for small organisers and enforceable.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll tell you about important changes at least 30 days before they apply, by email or in your dashboard. If you keep using EventTickets after that, the new terms apply.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of [Scotland], and the courts of [Scotland] can hear any dispute. If something goes wrong, please talk to us first at [legal@eventtickets.dev] and we'll try to sort it out.
